Weekday Dog Walkers

Must be available M-F, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
(Avg. pay is $25-35 per hour)

Pet Sitters

Weekday, weekend and holiday work required. Must be available 7-9 a.m., 5-10 p.m. and mid-afternoons depending on clients' needs. (Avg pay is $25-45 per hour)

Selected candidates will begin work as contractors with a reduced schedule in the first several weeks to ensure a successful transition, during which time they will meet with pet owners, meet with pet professionals already on staff, and build up to a full schedule of appointments in 60-90 days.

These positions require prior professional experience with animals, energy for lots of walking, and lots of love for our clients’ pets.

Experience and Education

Veterinary technicians and vet assistants preferred. Shelter employees, adoption managers, and other animal specialists with previous paid professional experience also welcome.

Experience handling animals other than your own pets is required
Experience in an animal hospital, animal rescue, or shelter is required
Experience administering oral medication and injections to pets
Proven ability to handle emergency situations
Knowledge of animal first aid
American Red Cross pet first aid certification preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
Must control simultaneously two strong dogs on leash
Must perform moderately strenuous physical tasks including bending, stooping, walking several miles, ascending and descending stairs, restraining animals, lifting 40-50 lbs.

Candidate must pass a criminal background check and provide references

Candidate must have reliable transportation, an excellent driving record, a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
