PET CARE PROFESSIONAL:
Part-time experienced professional needed, 15-30 hours per week. Weekday, weekend and holiday work required.

Must be available 7 am -10 pm, seven days a week: Core dog walking hours are weekdays 10am to 4pm; other hours you will be on-call. Must meet all position requirements.

Selected candidates must pass a full background check and reference check. New hires begin work with a reduced schedule in the first several weeks to ensure a successful transition, during which time they will meet with pet owners, meet with pet professionals already on staff, and build up to a full schedule of appointments in 60-90 days.

Experience and Education

Veterinary technicians and vet assistants preferred. Shelter employees, adoption managers, and other animal specialists with paid professional experience also welcome.

Experience handling animals other than your own pets is required
Experience in an animal hospital, animal rescue, or shelter is required
Experience administering oral medication, injections, and sub-q fluids
Proven ability to handle emergency situations
Knowledge of animal first aid; ARC pet first aid certification preferred
4-year college degree required, or commensurate experience
Professional Certifications welcomed

Physical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
Must control simultaneously two strong dogs on leash
Must perform moderately strenuous physical tasks including bending, stooping, walking several miles, ascending and descending stairs, restraining animals, lifting 40-50 lbs.
